This might hint at his story originally being that he was deployed at war when his wife passed away, but they changed him to an Admiral because a. that was too dark and b. it made more sense with his role in Chapter 5, a sea-centric chapter.
I kinda wanted to see this Admiral Bobbery in the final game because it looks somehow cool
