I downloaded the ROM and played it on SameBoy, and this message showed up after choosing a palette in color mode. Does that happen on other emulators or real hardware?

wait nvm i forgot the 3ds has a built in ds
what about putting a ds game into 3ds?
I don't think you can get it to run on a normal Gameboy unless you break a piece off the pak. Same how you can't shove a 3DS game into a DS unless you break a piece off.
doesn't this also appear on a normal game boy as well?
