@o0ramon0o The "human" palette is assigned to the skeletons, but in-game it gets replaced with Pewter City's palette. As for the Ghost, the leftmost palette is the default one, then is Gastly/Haunter's, and finally Marowak's (a Ghost reuses the palette of the Pokémon it disguises).
As for MissingNo., MishuK9 said it best: too many glitch Pokémon in Gen I, with way too many variants. Moreover, MissingNo. isn't a defined sprite, it's just graphical garbage, so it doesn't belong on this website.

@MegaMagikarp well, Mew was supposed to resemble an embryo, but still. It's really ugly.
I essentially threw out the old sheet that used to be here and recolored the black-and-white sprites to the right palettes. Whoever ripped the older one did so terribly -- the arrangement was practically non-existent, and there were botched pixels on many of the Pokémon (especially the ones with the pink palette).
Good grief! the sprites from Green are awful!
