@Dolphman Nickelodeon doesn't seem to care that much about TMNT's past ventures with the exception of the 1987 cartoon. (And that seems to be more to milk it for it's nostalgia/popularity, as it's the most well-known TMNT cartoon I think.)
Nickelodeon doesn't handle the series very well either if you ask me. A good example being, in my opinion, that weird cartoon Rise of the TMNT.
Honestly, I wish Peter Laird had given the rights to the series to a different company. Warner Bros. seems to "get" TMNT better from what I've seen.
Also, I do find it funny they replaced Michelangelo's nunchaku with that grappling hook later on in the 87 cartoon, especially considering he kept his nunchaku in all of the Konami games released in the 90s, even in Europe.

@SonicStorm478 Yeah, and it's disrespectful when you think about it. The 1987 cartoon wasn't even that good after rewatching it as an adult. Season 1 was at a good start, but it immediately got dumbed down by season 2. Overuse of 4th wall jokes, the Turtles using anything but their weapons. And they end up becoming publicly known, missing the whole point of what being a ninja is. Bebop and Rocksteady became stupider instead of the actual threats they originally were. Season 4, 5 and 6 had more episodes with the Turtles fighting generic villains instead of Shredder.
Michelangelo half way had his nunchaku replaced with a grappling hook with the excuse being how nunchaku are outlawed. And yet he was given a more lethal weapon.
And not to mention the massive amount of animation and voice mistakes.
Heck there was times voice actors were replaced due to tight schedules.
(James Avery was also on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Barry Gordon was the director of the Actors Guild at the time. And the replacements were very very obvious)

I'm still trying to figure this one out:

This one was also my favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. A shame that Nickelodeon seems to love sweeping this one under the rug as if it doesn't exist.

@Doc von Schmeltwick When this incarnation came out, I was just learning about the original Mirage comics. I really enjoyed them because they were mocking the dark and edgy comics that came out in the 80s, Like Franke Miller's take on Batman and Dare Devil. Peter Laird being the producer for the 4Kids TMNT helped introduce new fans to what the Turtles was originally about, with a kid-friendly adaptation of original comics.
One of my favourite episodes is the one of Donatello meeting a Jack Kirby caricature, which is an adaptation of the Donatello one-shot issue.

@xp ??? Why?
(16 years later and still the best turtle designs of any of the cartoons)

i am embarrassed that Konami used screenshots from the 2003 Series Intro for this game
And with these new comics, we finally got a crossover with Batman.
That's one thing I like about Warner Bros, they enjoy crossing over with rival companies. Unlike Marvel and Disney, who have been always stingy to do any.
