I wonder if those weird freckles in the rolling sprites are due to artifacting when importing the sprites, and they never bothered cleaning them up
I hate that GBA port, and you know why? Well it’s because it looks nothing like a Sega Genesis game, Stealth’s version of the GBA port from 2007 was better.

Those spindash sprites... odd, yet effective
Got a feeling SEGA ripped these from a sprite hosting website. You never know, this could well be a rip of a rip.

@mgtrekko: Some of the sprites have that weird old sprite style dithering to them.
Sonic's sprite is brighter in the GBA version.
