@Dakino: Not sure what exactly you mean with "Europe" or why you're talking about it like it's a single country, but in Germany it did ran on TV on a channel that showed various other anime shows as well. Not sure how popular it was, but it certainly wasn't super obscure.

On that note I happy I never seen that meme. Hamtaro was present in Europe through pirated channels so it got exposure thanks to that officially I don't remember much about it. Ironically also in Europe we got Hamtaro toys even tho again it was never on any official TV. Or even if it was then it was very well hidden from everyone. Many people don't even know wtf Hamtaro name is let alone watching it as a show.

Looked as a great content for children far as I remember and the toys were cute too.

I think he never caught on due to the Hamster Dance meme when it got turned into a music series and it drove everyone insane because of how annoying it was.
