Would it be possible for someone to get the "victory" animation as a gif? Obviously I could cobble something together from these sprites, but I'd prefer something that looks identical to how the animation plays out in-game.

@Yawackhary thanks for that response, very informative lol

@Murnjendoof Completely false. For the sprites, it's what you see is what you get in the ROM. As in 1 pose = 1 sprite. It screams "flash animation" in terms of the original source. Probably have it mixed up with another game as there are games that do this.
In terms of sprite ripping, it is actually one of the more easier to rip GBA games. Garfield is neatly arranged along with the human characters and vehicles, the enemies like spiders are trickier but not too much trouble. Some compression of course but that'll be for the backgrounds, menus and stuff.

I think I read somewhere that in this game, his legs, head, and arms are all separate sprites, to remove redundancy since there are lots of combinations of the actions that you can perform in the game. Is that true?

@Dolphman
Yeah I noticed that with how crusty these sprites look, especially given the fact that they look like horrible cropped edits of the original comic strips. It would of been way better if they just made original sprite work.

@MegaDrive2000 Pretty much. Garfield's sprites are blatantly taken from the comics' art and sloppily edited. It's more obvious in one level where the enemies are two sleazy diner workers who appeared once who filled in for the regular diner clerk Irma. Even more baffling is the level in the Arbuckle farm where Jon's mom is smaller than Garfield's sprites! The second GBA game was an improvement but still looked bad. (Garfield's sprites were traced over the ones from Garfield: Caught in the Act)

This game must've barely had any production value.
