I remember playing Legacy of Goku and thinking it was crap and then a friend told me the second game was awesome and I couldn't believe it.
But it's true, I love both Legacy of Goku 2 and Buu's Fury though I prefer the former.
The third one, while bringing in a lot of new features, always felt like it could use a bit more planning for the RPG elements.
It doesn't help that it's just too easy...
It would be great if Bandai Namco remakes these games and fixes the shortcomings of the first one but I guess that's highly unlikely at this point of time.
