the Sonic 1 palette versions remind me of Sonic CD, which makes sense, as both Sonic CD and Sonic Chaos were released on Sonic Mania Day and Sega and Aspect may have exchanged ideas, due to the (likely, since I can't find concrete proof) overlapping development of the games and the apparent similarities between games.
