You did beautifully! He's perfectly in style, all skrunkly!
The only thing I'd suggest adjusting is the ending sprites; the second pose seems to be from Sonic 2, so the pose just feels a bit off, with the angle still being based on jumping from the Tornado and all. I'm also thinking making the mouth/tongue a bit brighter as well in the End Pose. Other than that, you did wonderfully!
Edit: His Air Bubble sprite appears to be missing!
