Slightly harder to read something when everything is bold. I think I was trying using the < and > things (they disappear when I do it verbatim...) like wikis do before. Anyways, I'd prefer to stop clogging this comment section.
@MM734 Please don't escalate this. You acted like I hadn't said it, and my response was in consideration of that. Also, why are you bolding so much, anyways? (I've attempted bolding, strikethroughing, and italicizing on this site, but couldn't figure out what type of formatting this site uses for that :x)
@MM734 They have in English. In Japanese, it's always been intended as Metall, as the below interview outlines. The translations that call them "Mettaur" are shoddy at best and "Elf Bowling"-quality at worst.
@MM734 Only in the "they just didn't care" English translations. It's actually apparently supposed to be "Metall" in order to be a pun on some phrase that goes "all helmet," according to interview:

@Doc von Schmeltwick: Hey, at least it's not like with Hudson, with the translation nightmare known as Buggler (Bagura/Buglear/Bagulaa/Bugler/Buglar/Bugglar/Burglar/Bagular/Blargh).
They keep translating it differently because Capcom just doesn't care. The Japanese name is consistently "Mettōru" and is officially romanized in Japan as "Metall."
Same here. I thought this was the Battle Network version, those are called Mettaur. The general term for all variants is "Met" for some reason.
I've seen them have a different name in each series, metool in classic, mettaur in Nt Warrior etc. I always assumed that it was an intentional destinction.

When I was making the animation in 8-bit, I found a round head quite uninteresting, so I thought about adding hair to make the sprite appear more full. That's why I added hair.

"Mettaur" is a clear mistransliteration, that makes no sense whatsoever. It ain't a centaur.
