I wonder how the layering would work, would it be sometimes in the layer above and sometimes behind? Just wondering on how it would look ingame.

Isn't this more Kirby's Adventure style? I know they have the same basic appearance, but this appears to be using Adventure's palette....it certainly isn't Dream Land's palette.
