The texture you've linked to here is not the correct asset at all, and is a 4x4 compressed texture used by the 3D engine on the main screen. The actual sprites being referred to here exist in a sprite sheet that can only by used by the sub screen 2D engine. You wouldn't want to use the copy pasted "sprites" from the Waluigi Pinball roulette texture, as they are compressed texels and not the original artwork. 2D assets cannot be shared between the main screen and sub screen in Mario Kart DS, and the sub screen does not have access to 3D tex VRAM. |
