| Jul 27, 2020 4:12 PM | Play Dash | Game: Geometry Dash | Finally, GD's PC port sprites on TSR. GD nerds rise up! Also not to insult but you used the incorrect colors for the app icon cube in the thumbnail. Could happily make a new thumbnail with the correct colors. |
| Jul 27, 2020 4:00 PM | Ton | Asset: Goombas | Looks like there's something wrong with the shoe palette in the dump for the caged Goombas, so I can't recolor them. I'll see what else I can do. |
| Jul 27, 2020 3:58 PM | Gaia | Game: Super Robot Wars W | At the same time, it's battle BGM is HEATS in later installments instead of the original Getter Robo theme, the main theme of Getter Robo Armageddon when the storyline for that OVA series when it made it's debut, officially making the Shin Getter the first SRW original mecha to make the jump to television screens across Japan. |
| Jul 27, 2020 3:43 PM | DogToon64 | Asset: Dry Bones | Oh look, Dry Bones. I know someone that likes Dry Bones |
| Jul 27, 2020 2:46 PM | SpritZ | Update: Sheets and Leaks | I feel uncomfortable now! (o゚v゚)ノ |
| Jul 27, 2020 1:58 PM | Terminal Devastation | Update: Sheets and Leaks | Even though I'm sad some of the results will not be hosted here... This decision to not host them here for the reasons stated make me very happy. Good on you TSR! You've my support on this decision at least. |
| Jul 27, 2020 12:37 PM | Paraemon | Update: Sheets and Leaks | How is that a question? It involved acquisition of personal data alongside the prototypes and source code. Which means it was hacked. Which is, y'know, cyber crime. Crime. Illegal. |
| Jul 27, 2020 12:34 PM | Random Talking Bush | Update: Sheets and Leaks | @Tailikku: ...you mean the "beta" sprites that had existed in Yoshi's Island's final version ROM since day one? Please actually do your research before making false claims like that. @eve: I'm not going to waste my breath yelling at you if you're going to avoid my question about what sheets are the ones you think are awful. You're a lost cause. Also don't think I didn't see your other comment before it was deleted. I don't appreciate you stereotyping our community like that. |
| Jul 27, 2020 11:50 AM | WhiteFelineWonder | Asset: Mario (Hi-Res) | If I could take a guess, these are the overworld sprites for Paper Mario. My guess is that someone else might rip the battle sprites with the stuff like from the Hole Puncher, etc., or this sheet will get updated sometime soon. Either way, this still looks cute. |
| Jul 27, 2020 11:45 AM | WhiteFelineWonder | Asset: Paper Mario | never thought i’d see a flip flop as one of paper mario’s moves. ? |
| Jul 27, 2020 10:50 AM | Tailikku | Update: Sheets and Leaks | Are we even sure that they were obtained illegally? The same could be said about the roms used to obtained the spirtes that were originally on here. |
| Jul 27, 2020 10:37 AM | Fawfulthegreat64 | Asset: Paper Mario | As far as i can tell Paper Mario is handled identically between battle and overworld. I don't think it's that intensive, my personal theory as to why Citra lags so much is just due to not clearing past battles from memory. Paper enemies certainly seem to lag more than non-paper, but in general I've seen much more lag in battles in general the more I do without resetting in between. Even the final boss (which i'd honestly expect to lag a lot given how it's a very flashy model with lots of paper effects on top of that) lagged almost unbearably the first time I played it (after having done every prior battle he sends at you beforehand), but once I restarted and fought him, it was much much less laggy. |
| Jul 27, 2020 10:33 AM | Ton | Update: Sheets and Leaks | I guess in retrospect, people losing their minds over us not wanting to host illegally obtained content is the most obvious thing in the world. |
| Jul 27, 2020 10:27 AM | Ton | Asset: Goombas | Hmm really? I may have to recolor them then. A lot of files are stored with the wrong palettes applied. |
| Jul 27, 2020 10:15 AM | RaposaCadela | Asset: Lotus Elan SE & Esprit Turbo SE | Damn, the best looking version is the one unused |
| Jul 27, 2020 9:42 AM | Proking235 | Asset: Dark Bowser | @GuyWhoSleeps the reason you saw that his head legs and mouth were separate images is because Dark Bowser and every other character in this game are models. They are a bunch of 2D planes stacked together with the pieces that make up the sprite textured onto them. Dark Bowser, along with 80% of the other sheets on here come straight from MFGG, which has pretty much no vetting when it comes to uploading sprites. The sprites you see here were ripped by taking screenshots of an emulator, and sadly or Dark Bowser, that emulator was running in real time, so he is missing an astronimical amount for frame/entire animations. |
| Jul 27, 2020 9:33 AM | Sarara Shiki-kan | Update: Sheets and Leaks | It's like that Team Fortress 2 source code leak all over again. |
| Jul 27, 2020 9:30 AM | Proking235 | Asset: Goombas | this is very interesting, as neither the caged goombas nor the cage itself are their final in-game palettes. are these unused palettes in the files? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMZ9PrbxjKY (14:38) that is what the cage and goombas are supposed to look like. |
| Jul 27, 2020 8:29 AM | Lambda_Labs | Asset: Middle-Son 1986 | Why is this in the Enemies category? It should go to the Misc category, as it never attacks and is canonically an ally. |
| Jul 27, 2020 8:12 AM | ZTO | Asset: Hairy Toad | That's totally a digimon |
| Jul 27, 2020 7:34 AM | Noyemi K | Asset: Syohko | Wow, somebody else actually played Battle Master? |
| Jul 27, 2020 7:32 AM | Noyemi K | Game: Parotte!! Fighter | Laffo at naming the Jubei parody Yawara |
| Jul 27, 2020 7:18 AM | Noyemi K | Asset: Cyborg | Except he's just Ken |
| Jul 27, 2020 7:17 AM | Noyemi K | Game: Street Fighter | The only good things about this game are the concept and the graphics, everything else about it is terrible. Fatal Fury was basically Street Fighter: The Good Edition. |
| Jul 27, 2020 6:51 AM | Naffy zacky | Asset: Bowser & Jr. (Clown Car) | I don't remember seeing bowser riding a clown car in this game. Are some of this sprites unused? |
| Jul 27, 2020 6:43 AM | Terra King | Asset: Title Screen | When I always booted up mean bean from SMC+ I always got jumpscared as a child by Robotnik's face on the title screen lol |
| Jul 27, 2020 6:19 AM | Diego6mick | Asset: Hairstyles | but all these is in black and white!!! |
| Jul 27, 2020 6:17 AM | teh_supar_hackr | Asset: Gex (Sonic 1-Style) | I'd always imagine Gex being on the Genesis/Mega Drive. |
| Jul 27, 2020 4:21 AM | Murphmario | Update: Sheets and Leaks | Mind if I suggest something that could maybe be done about this comments section? |
| Jul 27, 2020 4:12 AM | vaniemarshie | Asset: Noriaki Kakyoin | The icon for this is perfect. |
| Jul 27, 2020 3:35 AM | Petie | Update: Sheets and Leaks | How are people not understanding this? The Space World prototype and anything else that may be included in this leak that's already on the site have been on the site for years. Even if that same data is included in this particular leak, the fact that the content here significantly predates this leak means that obviously, the assets we already have did not come from it. I'm not sure why so many of you are harping on that point though because all it's going to accomplish is the removal of the existing Space World prototype page (and anything else that overlaps) instead of, what I'm assuming is your actual goal, the approval of additional content from this leak. There are literally no double-standards here. We said, very clearly, that no submissions from the Gigaleak would be accepted and as it stands right now, none have been. |
| Jul 27, 2020 3:35 AM | Terra King | Asset: Lava Reef Zone Act 1 | Snooping as usual I see, Death Egg? |
| Jul 27, 2020 3:32 AM | Terra King | Asset: Launch Base Zone Act 1 (Dry) | This just looks like the original Launch Base background's contrast was turned up tbh. |
| Jul 27, 2020 3:31 AM | Tailikku | Update: Sheets and Leaks | Oh my god. The staff here is having so many double standards about not wanting the Gigaleak sprites on here, and yet sprites from that same leak have been on here for ages (YI beta graphics). |
| Jul 27, 2020 3:24 AM | Omega | Update: Sheets and Leaks | To clarify most of the "bad" custom sprites that are here are because they're really old and sort of hold some nostalgic and historical value of what content the site was getting back in the 00s |
| Jul 27, 2020 3:19 AM | Unoriginal_Fox | Asset: Luigi (Super Mario Bros. 3 MS-DOS-Style) | [obligatory L is real comment] |
| Jul 27, 2020 3:14 AM | The Scarecrow | Game: Castlevania Adventure ReBirth | Where's the other bosses and enemys? |
| Jul 27, 2020 3:02 AM | UnknownUney | Asset: Mario (Hi-Res) | I thought there would be more. |
| Jul 27, 2020 2:51 AM | UnknownUney | Game: Paper Mario: The Origami King | its cool that we got the sprites this early! I have been looking the day after it's release! |
| Jul 27, 2020 2:51 AM | Petie | Update: Sheets and Leaks | @eve I never claimed to be a pixel artist or animator nor did I say I made my own avatar so I'm not sure I see your point? Since you seem to have a tenuous grasp on reality at best though, I feel it's prudent to point something out to you that you may have overlooked. We're not just a pixel art site. We have a Custom / Edited section (which, contrary to your assumption that we mix custom sprites in with official ones, separates out the custom work from the rips) for pixel artists to submit their work but the primary purpose of the site is to archive and preserve assets ripped directly from games so again, I don't see your point. And there's one other thing I don't see - why is it people like you who seem to have nothing but disdain for the site even bother to post? If you hate it here so much, if you think it's all crap and not worth your time to even submit to, why on Earth are you here spewing your toxic garbage? Run off to your Pixeljoint or Pixelation or any other "actually good" pixelart site so you don't need to subject your poor, innocent eyeballs to the atrocities committed here. @Murphmario Yes, we certainly don't claim that everything on the site is perfect. Standards were much more relaxed and have steadily and significantly improved over the years but given how long some of the "bad" sheets have been around, we don't delete them until a better rip takes their places. |
