| Sep 28, 2025 6:11 PM | TengaiDenjin | Asset: Kabuki (Wai Wai World-Style) | Also, I forgot to mention something important that motivated me to make this asset: While I was browsing for old Tengai Makyou fan websites, I found this one [https://web.archive.org/web/20050212095628/http://www.h4.dion.ne.jp:80/~tengai/sub2.htm] ,wich contained a series of blogs about a Wai Wai World with Tengai Makyou characters, but I don't know if this was a real project or just a cool concept just for fun. After seeing this, I had the idea to make my own version of the sprites seen on the blog, but I noticed that Kabuki's sprite was just a base of Simon Belmont (which I don't judge, as I used Konami Lady as the base for my version lol). Although modified to resemble Kabuki, it has almost nothing to do with the character. For example, Kabuki doesn't wear boots, but rather those tall, black slippers, and among other things, like the ponytail, wich isn't visible in the sprite. Anyway, it was thanks to this obscure fan website that I decided to redraw all the complete sprites. Here is the comparison (what is painted in cyan was done by me. [https://imgur.com/a/q7zTan7] |
