@EXEcutor Umm, Nintendo and SEGA and most other video game companies do that too, if anything, the lack of it on the credits screen makes them more modest (or embarrassed, take your pick). |
Jun 17, 2018, 6:38 PM | The Strange Spriter | Sheet: Blizzard Man (The Wily Wars-Style) |
hmm... I see. but, i'm gonna try another anyways, & i'll attempt to make it truly "Wily Wars Style". |
Jun 17, 2018, 6:34 PM | DigitalDiamal | Sheet: Stage Titles (PAL, USA) |
I don't think these were really ripped, the Stage Titles had stars that are animated, which means it has its own sprites including the banner decorations and Sparkster's poses. |
Jun 17, 2018, 6:31 PM | Dolphman | Sheet: Shovel Knight |
"Yo-ho yo-ho yo-ho yo-ho!" (Probably the most tolerable "voice" in the whole game. XD) |
Jun 17, 2018, 5:43 PM | Mister Man | Game: Mario's Time Machine! (USA) |
@Doc von Schmeltwick: Thanks, Doc! @eerie10: I'll probably rip stuff from the SNES Early Years games after I'm done with DBZ Taiketsu. |
Jun 17, 2018, 4:59 PM | Void-the-Bat | Sheet: Introduction & Ending |
I swear, The Software Toolworks really want credit for the bad shit they make to the point that they put their own company name on TWO copyright screens. I'm surprised that they didn't do it on the credits screen at all. |
Jun 17, 2018, 4:49 PM | Zephadus | Game: Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness |
Wait, do you mean to tell me that this game went full DKC and rendered posed models as sprites? |
Jun 17, 2018, 3:59 PM | Void-the-Bat | Sheet: Kirby Palettes |
There. I made a revision to fix those two little pixels you didn't want to couldn't do yourself. Happy? |
Jun 17, 2018, 3:46 PM | Void-the-Bat | Sheet: Samus Aran (Power Suit) |
These are the types of sheets the Metroid games need. Not all disassembled or assembled together, but a mix of both. (I mean seriously, any time you wanted to use almost any Metroid Fusion sprite, you have to go through fucking hell to assemble it because not only were the sprites actually parts, but none of the parts were labeled.) This is a very good rip, and I really like how you even added the assembled sprites as well. Please keep up the good work. |
Jun 17, 2018, 2:59 PM | Superjustinbros | Update: Halfway June |
Agreeing with both points. |
Jun 17, 2018, 2:41 PM | MatiasNTRM | Sheet: Donkey Kong (Modern, Arcade-Style) |
I was going to do this, but I never had the time... |
Jun 17, 2018, 2:29 PM | Doc von Schmeltwick | Game: Mario's Time Machine! (USA) |
I'm so glad this was done. Thank you MisterMan ^^ |
Jun 17, 2018, 2:28 PM | Doc von Schmeltwick | Sheet: Introduction & Ending |
It's like Yoshi got possessed by Barney.... |
Jun 17, 2018, 12:43 PM | eerie10 | Game: Mario's Time Machine! (USA) |
Ok, NOW everything has been ripped. :) Well done, MisterMan. Well done indeed. But one must wonder... will he take on the Mario's Early Years Games next? |
Jun 17, 2018, 10:08 AM | ZetTheLegendaryHero | Update: Halfway June |
I hope that everyone can agree that updates are good. That should be true no matter how big or small the update is, how many "good" or "bad" rips are in it, what games had new rips, or what games were added. By the way, @Superjustinbros we all have lives outside of sprite ripping and the site; I'm sure it's no big deal. |

That early Yoshi looks terrifying |
Jun 17, 2018, 5:24 AM | Lumios | Game: Rockin' Kats / New York Nyankies |
It seems like the sprites from the original japanese version are missing, what a shame. Otherwise, those are great spritesheets. Well done! |
Jun 17, 2018, 3:18 AM | Doc von Schmeltwick | Game: Mega Man: Battle and Chase |
And that's leaving out the most important one, the poorly-received Wonderswan M&B game (assuming "mobile" refers to the mobile phone games). |
Jun 17, 2018, 2:27 AM | shadowman44 | Game: Mega Man: Battle and Chase |
RockBoard never happened in America, neither did Battle & Fighters for the NGPC, the SNES version of MegaMan & Bass, RockMan Strategy, and a ton of mobile games. |
Jun 17, 2018, 2:25 AM | shadowman44 | Game: Mega Man Soccer |
The ending with ProtoMan is also missing. |
Jun 17, 2018, 1:31 AM | SiFi270 | Sheet: Vegeta |
Doesn't he also turn into a great ape and step on the opponent for one of his moves? I was looking forward to this rip because I was hoping to see that. Edit: Thanks. |
Jun 17, 2018, 1:13 AM | shadowman44 | Sheet: Blizzard Man (The Wily Wars-Style) |
I mean to be honest, with the shading I'd say you could get away with calling it "Game Gear/Master System" style. |

@LittleYabiko Yes, that's what I intended |

Jun 16, 2018, 11:08 PM | Doc von Schmeltwick | Sheet: Donkey Kong (Classic, DKC-Style) |
@THiN CRUST Lady and Pauline are the same, the only source to separate them is a 1994 Japanese guide, which also separates the arcade and SMAS Sidesteppers and Fighter Flies, among other things. How else would the character on the Saturday Supercade be called Pauline? The 1994 GB DK is the same as the arcade DK. Same Mario, same Pauline, same DK Jr. And before anyone says "Nuh-uh Jumpman," the name "Jumpman" was only on directions intended only for the arcade owners to see, and by the time actual flyers came out, he was called Mario. |

Jun 16, 2018, 8:37 PM | THiN CRUST | Sheet: Donkey Kong (Classic, DKC-Style) |
@Doc von Schmeltwick I'm saying this, because Lady and Pauline aren't the same, and the Game Boy game came out a few months prior to Donkey Kong Country. If he WAS going to be the original Donkey Kong, the sprites would've been different: https://www.mariowiki.com/images/9/93/Dankey_Kang_94_preview_2.PNG |

Yeah I ended up not contributing much this week after getting mega-burnt out by Pokemon and having my birthday to celebrate and a convention to prep for. Hopefully next week I'll find some new content to rip and upload. Also, Happy Father's Day. |

Looks great! Though you may wanna take a look at the thumbnail, unless that's how you intended it to look. xD |
Jun 16, 2018, 7:53 PM | Doc von Schmeltwick | Sheet: Donkey Kong (Classic, DKC-Style) |
@THiN CRUST No, it's the Game Boy Donkey Kong game's Donkey Kong....who was still the original Donkey Kong. |
Jun 16, 2018, 7:34 PM | THiN CRUST | Sheet: Donkey Kong (Classic, DKC-Style) |
@toniczehedgefox actually, that's still the Modern Donkey Kong, as he's wearing that signature red necktie. |

Awesome. How do you make these sprites? |

If i remember correctly, these are default packaged with some unity games. There are also some alternate ones in other games. |

Jun 16, 2018, 4:57 PM | Yawackhary | Game: The Incredible Crash Test Dummies |
For this game, they share the same assets. The difference really is that the Master System has a higher resolution while the Game Gear has a large colour palette. The developers at this point usually make the Master System version for Europe and Brazil (maybe South Korea if you are lucky), and a Game Gear version for the US and maybe Japan but usually still release in Europe. It's not always clear cut since sometimes they do minor changes and you still get different games. |
Jun 16, 2018, 4:28 PM | glaber | Game: The Incredible Crash Test Dummies |
should have known this was the same as the game gear version. |
