I'd argue Persona is separate enough to count as its own series anyway. As far as I know they only ever used the SMT moniker outside Japan, and only for P3, P4 and the PSP remakes. They're still technically spinoffs but more in the sense that DKC is a Mario spinoff, for lack of a better comparison.

Looks like their appearance reverted to the original version's appearance, as Mario and Luigi Dream Team redesigned it with 3 legs instead of 2, had a slightly larger head, was a darker Brown than this one, had spikes, the stem had a slightly different color, and the eyes we're placed on the "hive" part, rather than above, we're larger, and we're angry red eyes instead of passive yellow eyes.

I think the best idea was just not to do this in the first place. I'm not a fan of recolored sprites (unless they're in the same sprite sheet) as they take very little effort to do, and most of the time they look lazily done and aren't pleasant to look at. Obviously there are different poses and some differences in the sprites, but it simply boils down to one thing - it's just the regular Pac-Man sprite but with some different poses and different-colored eyes.

Not gonna lie, even though I never played it, I was pretty happy this game got some representation in Smash Ultimate.
I wanted the DSiWare and WiiWare IPs to get some love in Smash 4, but alas, they didn't, and the ones that did are more based on their 3DS installments.
I would've picked Spotto as the second DSiWare game instead of Saru Band, but I guess it'll still do.

To be fair, this is essentially a glorified resize and recolor, but there's a deceptive amount of work that went into full color remapping of certain segments and contrast adjustments to replicate the way that the Doom palette was used in Doom 1/2. Also the projectiles are from scratch replications.
