@EXEcutor - Because there wasn't any point to do so; though enemy palettes and ring palettes utilise the same line, it is incorrect to say that, except for a rare few crossovers, that the enemy utilises all of the ring palette, normally it's the bright yellow, sometimes it's the lower two shades, rarely are all three integrated. This is a case where only the bright color is used. |

@The Observer: I could understand the actual colors on here not being raw, but I'm curious as to why you didn't just include the full palette line for the actual boss and such. |

I think one of them is the small version, but the sprites are resized in the game. That's why they look the same. |

So, Mario is just called Mario, but his doctor persona is named "Dr. Mary"? Well, I guess at least it isn't "Dr. Hello". |

OK, that's much better. Still, I think the LCD palette could just be given in a key-type thing, since in this case it's literally just a display alt. |

May 30, 2019, 1:26 PM | NONE_Dragon | Sheet: Golden Blast Raster |
@Doc von Schmeltwick It's a variation of the Blast Raster enemy, but behaves kinda like the Metal Gabyoall enemy, where the enemy gets stunned when attacked, however, unlike the Metal Gabyoall, this enemy walks around the structure of the stage instead of back and forth. |

May 29, 2019, 3:05 PM | Viscera | Game: Senran no Samurai Kingdom (JPN) |
@rasgar Makes sense, although it seems kind of weird that they didn't include a character from the one faction that DID debut in EV. But I guess they played it safe by focusing on established (and popular, at least in Yumi's case) characters, which more people would probably care about. |
May 29, 2019, 1:32 PM | rasgar | Game: Senran no Samurai Kingdom (JPN) |
@Viscera This is simply what the sections were called - as I understand it, every few months, the game introduces a new set of guest characters. At times the title is the name of a series/franchise/etc (as is the case with Tatsunoko), while at others it is the name of a specific entry in a series. This leads me to believe that the Estival Versus character set was released when Estival Versus was new, or at least pretty recent. Then, I imagine those were well received, and they decided to release another group of SK characters that represented the series as a whole, rather than specifically EV. Speaking as someone who knows nothing about SK, but had to look up the characters to make sure I was getting their names right, it looked to me that the EV set was taking one major character from each of the factions that were featured in that particular game. You can also see this with Hakuoki. I know nothing about that series either, but Kyoto Winds and Edo Blossoms aren't even really separate games - they are, as I understand it, two halves of a remake of the first Hakuoki game. There's a third set of Hakuoki characters I haven't posted yet which are tied to Hakuoki Shinkai, a compilation of Kyoto Winds and Edo Blossoms. So there surely aren't any new characters introduced in that, but the character set was added to this game to coincide with the release of the compilation. All of this is mostly guesswork on my part, without being able to read Japanese and trying to piece together information from a game that's been going for around 4 years, but I think these are reasonable assumptions! |
