I wouldn't say 100%; there is obviously a shared origin for the main characters, even if they ended up differently.
I still prefer to imagine that they are the same characters and just have a complex relationship and aliases.

Ok look, RC Car is underrated as heck, but the stages in the game that utilize him are overwhelmingly difficult. Having to grab all of those power cells in a short 3-second amount of time was very stressful for me during my playthrough of the game, not to mention his traction is very low, so I would often find myself spinning in circles while trying to collect a power cell as the battery level quickly drained out before I could even get them. They're a neat concept nonetheless, though very hard to get a hold of.

Update:
- Added the slightly chubbier Kirby sprites for when he has a copy ability (only the sprites shown are the ones that change, every other sprite stays the same.
- Added missing sprites for the Sleep, Backdrop, Parasol, Hammer, and unused Mini abilities.
- Added missing sprites for when Kirby completes a stage.
- Corrected a handful of Kirby's sprites based on the game's tiles (some sprites either had missing pixels or added pixels).
- Corrected some palette inconsistencies (the shade of brown used for the outline of Kirby's weapons and the visual effects was different in some sprites, this was changed to match the one provided at the bottom).
- Added disassembled sprites for when Kirby is carrying and using a weapon.
