Decided I'm gonna revamp this sheet and maybe a few others. I found this Ground Man was too big when compared to his and Mega Man's SNES sprites. A lot of my earlier sheets also didn't use a size comparison. EDIT: Done! |

I believe since this was done for an official magazine it got accepted. Like how the Pre-Release sprites for SMW got submitted in Customs and not in Super Mario World. |

Guys, you gotta remember that TVGR's submission verification system is all over the place, so I'm not too surprised this got on here. Either way, this is not an official design, so I'm unsure why this was allowed, much like many other customs on this site. |

Oh yeah, it's definitely from at least 2003. Tyson had his own style that was mimicked by a few other custom spriters at the time (you can find some of those sheets on here too). He was very influential in the Sonic spriting community's early days. That's why it was important to track these down and host them! Look at what has happened since Tyson Hesse made these; He's gone on to help spearhead the creative direction of Sonic! When MFZ went away it was important to me to find all of these old sprites that helped form the community and give them a new home. New spriters here may not know the history of our hobby. |

@Neslug I honestly really agree with you, and I've thought that about other peoples' fanmade gen 1 sprites I've seen over the years. A bunch of Red/Blue/Green sprites do look good. And I've definitely seen other fanmade sprites that capture that. Sharkguy still did good as a whole though, and clearly put tons of effort into all their custom sheets. |
