These have become such iconic custom sprites, used in quite a lot of content online over the years for sprite animations notably, but comics and other stuff too (Sonic Scene Creator 5, anyone?). And despite their age, I feel they've stood the test of time. They still look great and fit the original GBA game almost perfectly, to the point where rom hacks that incorporate them don't look too out of place. Hell, these gained such notoriety, that the Super Sonic ones in particular have accidentally appeared in official games, lol. I have nostalgia for these at this point, and I'm sure others do too. Shoutouts to the people who made them in the first place. Joe TE, shadow_91, Master, Neox ect. They've made a lot of folk's childhoods with the amount of dbz-like fight content spawned online thanks to these sprites, and I hope they still feel proud about them to this day. |
