The left island in the background could be Sonic 1's South Island, as correlating how deep Angel Island is in the ocean relative to the appearance it makes at the end of Sonic & Knuckles only makes this game's setting look weirdly split, which isn't the canon. |

Very intruiging that it was S3K that kickstarted the "Only Sonic has access to the true final stage" trend in games where there are multipule playable characters, since Knuckles' games end here as the Final Zone while Tails stops at the Eggman Robo aboard the Death Egg. |

I'd say that'd be a little out of character for Super Sonic, seeing as he's often shown to be fearless and ready (and understandably so, seeing as he's...well...Super!) But aside from the eye thing, the sprites themselves look fantastic! |

I feel like these'd make great life icons in a Sonic R Mod or SRB2 Mod - they're just so perfect and capture not only their expressions and personalities perfectly, but it's done within an authentic Classic Sonic style that looks straight out of an official Sonic game! |

The sprites of the Maintenance Robot with the broom arm extended sideways are unused, and are mostly conjecture. Same for the sprites of the Security Robot that has sparks on its laser arms. |
