Strange how EA kept advertising athletics games in these intros yet haven't made a single track and field or Olympics themed game on a console. These also had football (as in soccer) and tennis but at least EA brought them out later. Not much tennis, just the broken IMG Tennis (broken as in press the A button to do a lob after a serve/return to win since the AI doesn't known what to do) and not very successful Grand Slam games on the Wii/360/PS3 but football is a different story... |

Didn't know a Japanese version existed and thought that this game only came out in the US... Probably it was the name and publisher change that throwed it off, to the point that thought it was a different game until the theme song played. What makes it strange was that Japan got John Madden Football on the Mega Drive around the same time (just without the 92 on the title) so wonder why EA went to a different publisher... Even the sequel changed its name and intro but at least kept Madden somewhere in the game. |
