Almost every sheet I've put on here are (or are at least as close as possible) to the CHR ROM tiles (although they may be flipped). You can see this by adding a "tile mode" or "grid mode" in a lot of pixel art programs. However, this game's sprites really aren't always crafted efficiently...there are lots of tiles with a lot of empty space, so the placing looks fine if you were to block in all the "used tiles", but it *doesn't* when you factor in what the graphics actually look like. |

Most of the dev team working at Sega wouldn't be aware of this game as it wasn't released in Japan and the ones who probably have would have just found it on the Internet one day as a curio. Yeah, Sega bought the Puyo Puyo IP from Compile and only aware of their own stuff + Mean Bean Machine to a lesser extent meaning that it's probably Sakurai whose more aware of this game (I don't know about the rest of HAL). On the Tetris side, they published and developed many entries, most that stayed in Japan due to the complex license (it was really complex at one point affecting the Mega Drive release that had to be cancelled and only a handful of genuine copies exist). Plus the plotline can happen in manga, anime, light novels, etc where the dev team are far more familiar with. |

The game is set in New Zealand and the character that you play is a kiwi (as in the bird, not the fruit) even though it doesn't actually look like one. As for why, only Taito themselves can answer that question. |
