| Jul 31, 2023 5:58 PM | Yawackhary | Game: Virtual Boy Wario Land | @TheVengefulRevolvenant It's because the colour comes from the screens themselves, there are red LED lights and the game code controls the brightness (off = black, A, B & C) for its palette. It does have a palette order e.g. a sprite can be black,A,B,C, C,B,A,black or B,black,C,A but no colour palette for the console to use. The tech spec sheet is very hard to understand though. Originally Nintendo planned this to be in colour but the technology wasn't there at the time. Emulators do add the red palette so it looks closer to how you look at the screen on a console but some can choose what colours to display. It's like why most OG Game Boy rips are in black, white and grey instead of green. |

So many cursed sprites in this, like a 3 and 4 year old opened MSPaint and messed around in it for an hour or two ... wish the same effort was used to obtain sprites from something more presentable instead of MSPaint scribbles. Few of them are quite well done but lots of it is just no effort nonsense. Speaking of 3 it's hard to believe this game was made in 3 years ... RIP kickstarter money, wish that the same money was used for an actual game. |
