@jhojho216 It depends really... Some are literally just bmp/png/even jpg files laying about with the sprites set up, others are that but the layout is all over the place making it harder to sort out, some do their own thing and some do all of those. Pre-iOS/Android mobile generally ran on Java (J2ME), so the entire game is stored in a JAR file. This was also a VERY EARLY Android game probably one of the first big name Android games so it is also an apk (that you can just rename to zip and extract it). Since Gameloft was involved (as Ubisoft and Gameloft were related, both were run by the Guillemot family), they had their own custom format for the sprites. It's tricky without knowing reverse engineering though and there have been difficulties ripping from those games. So yeah, you pretty much have to be a programmer to rip these games... Most of the game is sadly like this but a few things do have pngs (e.g. D-Pad, button, Ubisoft/Gameloft logos, app icon). The ripper who had done the Altair rip ended up capturing the sprites with a J2ME Mobile emulator along with ArtMoney to edit the memory for the poses with a bunch of screenshots and edited to remove the background... Also tried DragonUnPACKer but all I found was the title screen and some tilesets... |

I remember there being an earlier version where Bowser's appearance with this skin was just his SMB1 sprite recolored and outlined to make it fit better. There may also have been other changes I'm forgetting. If that version of the sheet isn't lost, I think it'd be worth preserving. |

@Welfz Twingo Furs Piece of shovelware using an unfitting license. In the US, the game was reskinned as a Ghostbusters game, but all it did was swap Garfield with Peter Venkman and everything else was the same. In Japan, the game was reskinned with Mickey Mouse with Minnie in place of Odie. And you're not wrong about the bootleg part. The game is actually an unauthorized port of the C64/Amiga game, P.P. After they all fail, Robotnik decides to create new elite henchmen, leading to the origin of Scratch and Grounder. |

The Dry Bones is one of the few redesigns I appreciate in Sticker Star. I like the Dull Bones design and think it should be kept for that subspecies, but the Dry Bones should look more like an undead Koopa. Plus this uses the classic Koopa design as a base so that might be a big reason I don't find it as uncanny as the other redesigns (including the ones for the living Koopa) |
