It was Bubble Bobble -> Rainbow Islands -> Parasol Stars. Then there's Bubble Bobble -> Bubble Symphony -> Bubble Memories as they followed similar gameplay styles (and that both this game and Parasol Stars share the same subtitle). The Bubble Bobble 2 name for Symphony was only for the US but Taito decided that Memories is 3 globally. Then if the Fandom wiki is right (sometimes are, sometimes made up) then yeah... it wouldn't make any sense when sequels became prequels. Especially now with 4 Friends and Symphony could be considered 4 if it follows on from Parasol Stars or what the wiki says that Memories came first "plot wise". Plus the factor of Bubble Bobble Part 2 that wasn't done by Taito and there's two different versions of that game with different plots whether you read the manual or play the game. Probably the easiest way is just to play the games, ignore the plot and don't think about it. |
