There are people who think that Linkle is original, but it's just Zelda dressed with a custom green tunic.
Besides Zelda herself was already a feminine version of Link before everyone thought about that ridiculous idea of changing his gender.
She was a female version of him in that game before that trend started even though Nintendo wanted to forget about the CDi games.
