These could make for some sick enemies in a Doom mod or something.
from the poke i've had it seems the custom character is made up of separate parts that are coloured red, blue and green values which are changed in-game. so yes they are sprites too.
... huh. how *did* they handle playable characters in this game? i assumed models but seeing as everything else is sprites now i'm not too sure.
