Kinda late update, but I may have found the cup design you saw online that looked like the title screen version. It was actually just a custom by DrakeTheroux. Great recreations, though, and the added Tails version is cute! I don't blame you for mistaking it as official.

This was the best I could find. So not the same design it seems, but it still looks nice regardless. Though why the game didn't recreate either of them, I don't know. Even the Sonic statue's popcorn cup is different!
I do believe it did? I remember seeing pictures of it on the internet.
It's definitely one of the better looking sprite art in the game (at least in a strictly objective sense)! I'm curious if the actual popcorn you got from the original machine had the same design? Though the fact they didn't bother keeping said design for the popcorn at the end makes me doubt it.
That Sonic art is so cute! The limited colours really make it feel like it's straight out of the 1940s!
