Man, this game had some terrible sprite art for Megaman standards
@Gaia That's because Capcom arcade games typically had a resolution of 384x224, compared to the much narrower 256x224 resolution of the SNES. Because both games were made to play on 4:3 monitors, the arcade sprites were made wider to compensate for the fact that they would be squished when displayed on-screen.
The MM7 sprites were stretched for whatever reason, but I'll bite.
