@WilliamStef They were created without the license. MAME might be GPL-2.0 now but it wasn't back then and these were based of really old versions of MAME that do not allow commercial use. You do still see these types in an arcade or bar running on a frontend with many games and using MAME but using later versions.

The games themselves were also unlicensed as they didn't get permission from Nintendo, Bandai Namco, Taito, Konami, G-Mode, Atari, Capcom or Koei Tecmo. There are legally licensed cabinets that do use MAME but sometimes companies even screw with the licensing (recall something about Arcade 1up not properly credited MAME or something for the emulation of many of their cabinets).

How is this a bootleg? I’ve seen it in some arcades.

Dude, these machines are pretty cool!! I know of a place where there are like 2 or 3 cabinets with this Multigame Menu on it, and honestly (for what I assume is a cheaper way to get many many games on 1 place without using up TOO much space) I think these are worth playing! Glad to see that y'all are getting them ripped :)

I remember seeing a Multicade arcade machine back in 2018 at a event called Diversity (I think it was called like that) at my hometown
