      this is... something

@Yawackhary It was OrenClubs video on the game that inspired me to rip the sprites and send me down the whole rabbit hole of this game, although i did watch KimJustice's video aswell

It's about time this was ripped

Ah, the game i forgot it existed. I first saw it on 2023, also the some sound effects in this game are hilarious

Saw this game being featured by KimJustice and I'll imagine the idea for someone to rip this game came from there or the Ashens book. This game is something all right...
I think this only got ported to the Amiga/Atari ST because it felt like only 5 people had an Acorn Archimedes at home (not to knock the computer though, it was really ahead of its time with an ARM processor and being 32-bit but the price and that only a few companies released games such as Krisalis meant that the models were a niche compared to Amiga and Atari ST). The editable graphics don't seem to translate on the ports even though in blooming theory many Amiga games used Deluxe Paint for the graphics anyway.

I have a theory. A joke, really, easily disproved if you care. Since Top Banana's graphics supposedly came in a format that was deliberately easy to work with so you could reskin your copy to taste, what if the copy everyone's been sharing doesn't have the original graphics anymore? A bit like how most copies of The Oregon Trail come with a tombstone file about pepperoni and cheese that wasn't on the original mint-in-box disks because of rampant piracy?

I'm surprised these hadn't been ripped already ngl

Omg! Thank you for ripping these, couldn't find these anywhere lol

the most game ever. won the award for deepest fried game

this is actual art. this belongs in a museum

      This game looks.

      iron technology

      harrowing game

almost forgot you need to press enter on disc 1 while trying to recreate the font (i installed winuae just to do that with top banana)

The game is called "Top Banana", and yet there are no bananas to be found...

quite possibly the worst looking game ever but hey, at least the devs learned from their mistakes in their later games like Big Bang on the Acorn Archimedes

but you accidentally make the platformer so scuffed and outright weird it gets classified as "psychological horror"
