If I had to guess, the A, M, and P are styled in the same way as the numbers, colon, period, and a few other symbols to generate times and the rest of the font was included as placeholders.

Also, I realize this comment is like six months late but I clicked on random and wound up here so I figured why not.

This font is legit, but its not seen in the normal game. I do believe it is the font used for the debugging stuff. Its labeled ASCII. The real font should be in the GZF files somewhere.
