I used to think it was because the level probably took place in an oasis, but thinking about it now, it probably wasn't. And I agree, I don't know why they used these hills in a desert level.
@Dolphman Yeah! It was weird to see this in a desert level.
It always bugged me how this background was used in one of the desert levels, making no sense because of it still being green.
