Spectacular job on these! I've always liked this one, even though I cut my teeth on the original Dragon Warrior, so the whole "Beginner RPG" thing was lost on me; great see it getting so much love here. |

I was really going by what the Final Fantasy 2 NES overworld character sprites do. You can see that they break the standard 3-color limit by again, having the head and body use different palettes. |

Or by making the shade of yellow for his eyes, hands and feet use the same shade of orange as his hat, or vice-versa. |

Most likely they could've gotten away with this with having the head and body have separate palettes, there's quite a few games that do this. |

@RiffOsci Calm down, it was only a joke. It's a reference to how Capstone infamously added unnecessary jumpscares in their (Very bad) first person shooters. And Fives Nights at Freddie's due to the pizza theme and being one of the series' main gimmicks. |

Whoa, this game got an "upgrade" to fully(?) ripped! Nice! I was kinda contemplating on attempting such a thing myself a little while ago, but I was hesitant to try it because playing this bootleg makes me feel really depressed. |

@Alefy San it is a proper Final Fantasy spinoff game. It was always developed as a "Final Fantasy" game, although it WAS done by the same team that did SaGa 3 AKA Final Fantasy Legend III on the GB. It was created mainly as a "beginner RPG" primarily intended for North American players, however it still released in Japan (retitled "Final Fantasy USA: Mystic Quest") and Europe (retitled as "Mystic Quest Legend") as well. Oh yeah, also THIS was the first Final Fantasy game that released in Europe, NOT FFVII. |

Fun fact, the enemies I chose to display in the thumbnail were my two favourite ones when I was a kid Oh, also, the overworld sprites with magenta backgrounds are technically palette edits, as those enemies don't normally appear on the overworld anywhere in the game, but I used the game's proper overworld palettes to sorta mock up the overworld sprites they probably WOULD have had if they were actually placed in the areas they would have belonged to. |
