	This along with FIFA 2000 are the very few games where the intro is different depending on the Game Boy model yet are on the same cartridge. Compared to running on GBC mode; the logos don't have any animation, the THQ logo is completely different and even the title screen is different (on the GBC the banner has pseudo transparency, John Madden is touched up with extra detail especially his tie and minor details that are missing on this version). Tiertex were prolific during this time and regarding these features only recall Nintendo (via TOSE) and Konami supporting all three versions of the Game Boy until everything had to be GBC only. What surprised me was that Tiertex had motivation to do this as it would have been extra work. Then again there's probably still some Game Gear Madden 96 code in there...
