I quite like the animation on Mickey in this game, it's rather fluid, has some good squash and stretch, smears, and just looks lively. For a Genesis platforming game from like the mid 90s, this is quite exceptional. The Sega Illusion games on Genesis are designed better, but have more limited animation, so this game has its own allure in that way. Before like Cuphead, this is one of the games that came before it that tried to higher the bar of fluidity in game animation, and I still find it impressive. Also shout out to games like Prince of Persia, Aladdin (Genesis), Earthworm Jim etc. which were also pushing the art form forward.
Not quite true... They did that in Aladdin and The Lion King.
Disney actually outsourced the animation to a company called Creative Capers, they were more known for animating Tom & Jerry: The Movie (the first one) and I believe no actual animator from Disney was involved outside of consultancy. Even when ripping the sprites so long ago, could tell that the style look a bit "off" as in trying to do the style but not quite. It seems Disney liked using them because afterwards, they used them for Maui Mallard, Gargoyles, Hercules and a bunch of PC stuff.

Fact: These sprites where actually animated by Disney animators and then turned into sprites!
I totally forgot to move the other Mickeys to their own section, whoops. (Real life shenanigans, ahahaha...) Will do when I get the time to.
@k98 No need to be rude, it was probably rejected.
Also consider people have lives.

its 2023 now and you still haven't done it. Talk about lazy work there lmao.
Moving the other Mickeys (the non playable ones) to their own section.
