@gamer_djm i found that out funnily enough, but forgot to edit my comment :/
Actually Origins uses the version with vocals, it's just the 2011 versions (Mobile, Steam, etc) that use instrumental.
Yeah, I found that out today lol, and apparently the different vocals in Sonic Jam were from the prototype, and the instrumental is because of copyright issues :/
I'm pretty sure these things were done for copyright stuff if I'm not mistaken.
It always annoys me how no one talks about the fact that SEGA always keeps changing Sonic ~ You can do anything (JP Op.). I own a PAL Mega CD II with Sonic CD and it has the original opening song. In Sonic Jam on the Saturn they redid the female vocals, and in modern releases (2011, Origins (to my knowledge)), they just use an instrumental that is a remake and isn't the original 🙃 If there's any misinformation in this comment please correct me. :)
