@SegaSonic1 Sega of America as to be expected. They believe that the collection won't sell unless Sonic is featured even though the PS2/PSP Sega Genesis collection sold fine. Funnily enough, they weren't exactly wrong... Even today some people still believe in America that the Genesis was a Sonic and sports games console with a few outliners (the pack-in Altered Beast, Streets of Rage series, the Golden Axe port, Revenge of Shinobi/Shinobi 3, some licensed games usually the Disney stuff, maybe a few cult games like Gunstar Heroes and Dynamite Headdy, maybe even the Phantasy Star/Shining Force games if you're lucky).

Since the Mega Drive still has nostalgia value in Europe (and Australia, the collection never got released in Japan since this is a Backbone developed game), this wasn't needed. Like the PS2/PSP game, the change is half hearted with Genesis still popping up in places.

South Korea though... that's a different story. It got the US title despite that the console was never called the Genesis or Mega Drive officially (it was Super GamBoy or Super Aladdin Boy). Brazil, Taiwan and South East Asia also got the US title despite them all calling it the Mega Drive... We have no idea who came up with those decisions.

Whose idea was to rename Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection to Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection? There are more games apart from Sonic's!
