In the case of pre-MAME and emulation in most cases, these are actually ports adapted to the console. Completely different format and layout compared to the tile based arcade originals. I'm not sure whether they had access to the ROMs (kinda do but kinda don't), any assets Irem gave them or just recreated with the arcade machines on hand. Biggest flaw is that you have to reset the game to change game...

The most obvious one is Kung Fu Master where it has a completely different palette compared to the arcade. The other two are less obvious even though silly A-Max has a folder dedicated to duplicated glitched graphics of Zippy Race... Plus there might have been plans to release this outside of Japan as it has the alternative name for Zippy Race (Traverse USA) and the menus are in English. Would have been rejected in the US, plus no US name but PAL regions may have had a chance. Surprised the likes of Midas, Virgin Interactive (released R-Types), what became 505 Games (EON?), THQ (released In the Hunt), even blooming Phoenix Games didn't go for this even if it took longer to get released.
