So, it's just Sonic 1 sprites and the color palette is kind of like Sonic 2 and they even made shiny and his eyes round-ish like in Sonic 2. They could've used Sonic 2 sprites lol.
There actually is are some unused sprites missing from this sheet, 2 of them being ride sprites and the other one being a super sonic flight frame
