I think the Man-Eating Plant should technically be moved to "Non-Playable Characters", since the game code treats it as a character and it even has dialogue when it burps. You can even play as it like any other character with a single Game Genie code

@Unoriginal_Fox Assuming you're not joking, it's the predecessor to Day of the Tentacle (a prequel is created after the original but takes place earlier).
