@MadeKillaSam Yeah... I wouldn't even be sure if the game was allowed to pass NoA's guidelines had it did come out in 1989. Ancient did change the sprites (the OG that you see here would have been instantly rejected) but ironically the change would have caused what little market that would have been interested to disappear. Even then NOA might complain that the thighs are "too thick" when jumping, still requiring revisions. Also the character design is still TOO Japanese looking for the game to be accepted back then for the US due to her facial features so the Amazon would have to either change entirely whether it's a muscular runner/an animal/a robot or to make the game an Adventure Island spinoff (changing the sprites to Master Higgins or Tina). Weirdly it would have been more suited to the PC Engine/TurboGrafx but then again Kato-chan and Ken-chan/JJ and Jeff already exists on top of New Adventure Island so...

Must be someone at Limited Run games who came up with the idea. Realistically though, a game like this would have flopped in 1989, both original and LRG's altered version. Praise for the graphics and music but the gameplay would have been scorched as people expected more depth, even the Adventure Island games moved towards more less linear platforming and animal ride ons. Yeah, the comparisons would have been there.

What makes this even more surprising that Yuzo Koshiro worked on this game. Yes, the legendary composer.
