This game is really licensed by Sega, but not by Nintendo.
@Benny because the Tengen release was unofficial. We may change the “bootleg” tag to “unlicensed” at some point to fix the confusion.
I wonder why the site renamed the Tengen version from Fantasy Zone (US) to Fantasy Zone (Bootleg).
It's debateable which is the better version, but IMO, I think both Tengen AND Sunsoft did a fine job at porting the game. Most people argue the Tengen version's better, though. Gameplay wise, they're about even IMO. Graphics? Sunsoft has better sprites, but Tengen has less jarring backgrounds. Sound? Sunsoft has better sound effects, but Tengen has better music. That's just my opinion.
