The Macintosh ran at a higher native resolution than DOS, so graphics were usually upscaled to their proper size and touched up to varying degrees of effectiveness.

What about Peach? Peach is a playable character, too.
Ironic game name, since Mario himself has a lot of trouble to spell correctly in one of the cutscenes of the game.
