For all we know, They wanted to make some monument on the Hydrocity background but ran out of time to make sprites so they uses sonic but even then, They should have used Knuckles

@luigiboy I heard something about odd time travel shenanigans and then Sonic losing his memory about the island. Idk tho.
Am I the only one who wonders why Sonic is in the background (the top)? Like, he wasn't alive when the Echidna Tribe was still around.
