this is like a cursed alternate reality of the Sonic 1 sprites.
When playing the game, I noticed some of the Unused/Unidentified hands are actually used and I'd like to bring them to attention. Counting from the top left:
- 1 accompanies the Idle, the difference between this and 4 resides in the shading of the ring, otherwise identical.
- 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 accompany the Dizzy animation in the same exact order. Arguably, this is the one that fits the most accurately.
- 6, 7 and 8 accompany the Balancing (from Ground) animation in the same exact order.
- 3, 4 and 5 accompany the Balancing (to Ground) animation in the same exact order.
The last 2 don't fit the balancing that much and are probably random pulls, but the first 2 fit extremely well it's accompanying sprite, just not layered or placed properly.
That's all, just wanted to point this out. Have a nice day!

ah, makes sense.
I think they use the same colors for the fur, but not for the skin.
does this use the same palette as Sonic Eraser?
it now uses the real mega drive color values (multiples of 36)
i notice the color scheme on this sheet has been changed but is there anything else that’s been changed/added?
@EricTheWolfLaser
Of course you can, but don't forget to credit SEGA, they made the sprites

i need to use him in my game, i can?
someone should mod sonic crackers's sonic sprites into mighty from chaotix
no arm sonec
Fantastic work!
Nice rerip, especially with the arms.
I'm working on re-ripping the Chaotix in the same format too! Those may take a while longer, but stay tuned!
WOW!
This is a massive upgrade over the ancient, messy sheet! Incredible work!

armless sonkleg
I made a little edit of the pallete of the standing sprite and it honestly turned out very well, i used knuckles' skin tone from the knuckles chaotix sprites as sonic's skin tone (duh, it obviouslly wasn't gonna be the shoes, lol) and it looked alright, i also made an alt using some of the blues from the botanic base level 5 (day) background and it looked very good.
It seems like i can't do the (img) thingy so i'll just have a link to a post i made about the sprite on twitter if anyone is curious.
Pd: Does the img url command appear in the preview or do you have to post the comment for that command to work? I guessed that it should show on the preview but it didn't.

Alot of people dont like the over saturation but I like it lol.
@MCTravisYT I think it's because most of the guys who worked on Sonic CD were also working on Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic CD reused Sonic 1 sprites tit-for-tat, so I'm guessing that was their original plan here.
Now that I think about it, Sonic CD and Knuckles Chaotix were both developed in Japan while Sonic 2, 3&K was developed in the US, so in a way we could have gotten an alternate trilogy that went Sonic > Sonic CD > Sonic Crackers, kinda like how the original plan for 3 was to be one big game, making things go Sonic 1 > Sonic 2 > Sonic 3.

So why is this based on the Sonic 1 sprites again?
