@FrenchOrange Oh, whoops, you're right. I knew it was a 3DS game; I just had them mixed up.
@QuadFactor Personally I think it could simply be an earlier iteration of the default Surf blob. Maybe the devs wanted the generic shape to be Lapras-like, as seen in the Gen 2 games.
Also I'm pretty sure the unique Lapras surf model dates back to X&Y, not S&M lol

It's crazy that they had plans to include a unique surfing graphic for lapras but wouldn't actually implement it until Sun and Moon.
