if i had to guess then maybe Green is a much more dynamic color to go against Pac-Man's Yellow?
Funky killed Clyde and took his place.
I just found out that Common (the green ghost) has an unused pallete making him Clyde. I'll upload a revision to add it.

It was a common thing in ports of Pac-Man that Inky was coloured green whever it's due to colour limitations or some idiot mistaking cyan for green, I find it beyond peculiar that CLYDE is green.

That would be Funky, I think. That was the green ghost in Pac-Mania, but he could jump. Or maybe colorblindness, I don't know. Or just because playable.
Since when was Clyde green?
